THE SCREENDROP CHECK
Every unit goes through these checks before it is graded, priced and listed.
PANEL AND BACKLIGHT
Full-screen white, black, red, green, blue. Look for dead pixels, marks, uneven backlight.
HDMI INPUT
Boot a source on each HDMI port. Confirm picture and native resolution.
DISPLAYPORT INPUT
Same as HDMI. N/A if the unit has no DisplayPort.
REMAINING INPUTS
VGA, DVI, USB-C, USB hub, audio out. Test each one that exists.
BUTTONS AND MENU
Every button or joystick direction. Open the OSD, change a setting, confirm it sticks.
STAND AND HINGE
Tilt, height, swivel, pivot where fitted. Check it holds position and does not wobble.
POWER AND STABILITY
Cold start from unplugged, then 30 minutes on. Listen for coil whine, check for flicker.
COSMETIC CONDITION
Bezel, chassis, rear, cable entry. Photograph every mark you can see from 50cm.
